Love 1920s Bungalows?
We do too and wanted to share the best places to find 1920s Bungalows for sale in and around Atlanta, Georgia.
If your heart is set on buying a Craftsman bungalow, the best places to look are the older, historic neighborhoods in Atlanta. Right now, the most popular place to find 1920s bungalows for sale would be in Virginia Highland, Candler Park, Kirkwood, City of Decatur, Ormewood Park as well as a few other communities near the Atlanta Beltline.
Other Atlanta neighborhoods that have bungalows (but not quite as many) include Inman Park, Morningside, Cabbagetown, Underwood Hills, Midtown and Druid Hills. If you are looking for an 'up and coming' neighborhood that offers Craftsman bungalows, take a look at Sylvan Hills and Adair Park - both are new the Beltline and you can typically find something in the mid $100s to mid $200s. East Atlanta also has some affordable bungalows ranging in price from about $250K to $450K.

Other things to consider when buying and searching for an Atlanta bungalow...
When real estate agents enter a new bungalow listing into the MLS system, they have to select the architectural style of the home. Many select "bungalow" or "craftsman" even if the home was built in the 1950s or 2000s. When you are searching for your dreamy 1920s bungalow, please keep in mind that you may have to sort through a few "duds" .
True bungalows are always in high demand, no matter what kind of real estate market we are in. 2017 is still a seller's market in many parts of Atlanta, so if you find the perfect 1920s home, be prepared for multiple offers and don't be afraid to offer over the asking price if the value is there (definitely consult with your agent first!).
Most of the bungalows are located in the Intown Atlanta neighborhoods (near Downtown), City of Decatur and Beltline neighborhoods that are South/West of Downtown. If you are more of a suburbs person, you can also find a handful near Downtown Marietta and Historic Roswell. Buckhead neighborhoods like Peachtree Hills and Garden Hills also have a nice selection of bungalows and cottages.
While brick bungalows are a bit harder to find, we love it when our clients purchase one because older, historic homes so settle quite a bit over time and if you are buying a brick bungalow, it is much easiier to see any cracks in the foundation and on the exterior of the home.
If you have any questions about Atlanta bungalows, please call us at 404-205-8800 or 404-432-1844. We are always here to help!
